Musical Instruments

Zheng and Zhong were bronze percussion instrument. Zheng were musical instrument used in the army, espelially when the nobles of the Guo State followed imperial court of Zhou Dynasty to go on punitive expedition. A set of zhongs was named chime, which was often played with chime of sonorous stones for nobles in banquet and offering sacrifices to gods (or ancestors). The volume of zhongs was up to the size of the resonator and the change of the audio frequency the bulge part. We know from this the deep understanding of the music theory and instruments of the people at that time. The singers and dancers performed with bronze chime and chime of sonorous stones. It's easy for us to imagine luxurious life of nobles of the Guo State.
